Shading - coffee farming

Updated: May 22, 2021

The coffee plants we grow are co-located with

in the natural rainforest. Large tree with its shade act as a natural sunlight filter that allow for the coffee plants to sustainably grow. Shade grown coffee requires little or no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.

As the coffee beans mature more slowly in the shade, natural sugars increase and enhance the flavour of the coffee.

Moreover, these coffee plantations filter carbon dioxide which causes global warming, and aid in soil moisture retention which minimizes erosion. Shade coffee farms help sustain rainforests, preventing forest fires and increase green areas and together food sources for inhabitants and wildlife.
